**NEW DELHI, November 22, 2024** – The much-anticipated release of the PlayStation 5 Pro in India has been delayed due to the ongoing uncertainty surrounding the licensing of the 6GHz WiFi spectrum. Sony has confirmed that the console’s unavailability in India is directly linked to the country’s lack of approval for the 6GHz band, crucial for WiFi 7 technology utilized by the PS5 Pro.

While WiFi 6E, utilizing the 6GHz band, offers significantly faster speeds, India, along with China, has yet to license this spectrum.
