Fri Nov 22 11:07:20 UTC 2024: ## KL Rahul Joins Elite 3000-Run Club in Tests

**Perth, Australia:** Indian batting star KL Rahul achieved a significant milestone in the ongoing first Test against Australia in Perth, becoming the 26th Indian batsman to score 3000 runs in Test cricket. Rahul reached this landmark during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 series.

Rahul achieved the feat in his 54th Test match, accumulating 3007 runs in 92 innings, including eight centuries and fifteen half-centuries. His highest individual score is 199.

Despite a controversial third umpire decision resulting in his dismissal for 26 runs (74 balls, 3 fours) in the first innings, Rahul played a crucial role, providing stability to the Indian batting line-up after early wickets of Yashasvi Jaiswal, Devdutt Padikkal, and Virat Kohli.

India’s first innings ended on a disappointing 150 runs, with Nitish Reddy top-scoring on 41. Only Rishabh Pant (37), Rahul, and Dhruv Jurel (11) managed double-digit scores. Jaiswal, Padikkal, Kohli (5), Washington Sundar (4), Harshith Rana (7), and Jasprit Bumrah (8) all failed to make a significant impact. Josh Hazlewood was the pick of the Australian bowlers, taking 4 wickets for 29 runs. While the team’s performance wasn’t spectacular, Rahul’s individual achievement remains a noteworthy highlight.
