**Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan:** In a shocking incident, four doctors in Rajasthan’s Jhunjhunu district have been suspended after a 25-year-old man, declared dead by them, showed signs of life on his funeral pyre.
Rohitash, a deaf and mute orphan residing in an orphanage, was admitted to BDK Hospital in Jhunjhunu on Thursday after falling ill. Around 2 p.m., he was pronounced dead by doctors Yogesh Jakhar, Navneet Meel, and Sandeep Pachar, the principal medical officer. His body was subsequently taken to a crematorium.
However, as Rohitash’s body was being prepared for cremation, he began breathing and moving, causing panic among those present. An ambulance was immediately summoned, and he was rushed back to the district hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and is reported to be in stable condition.
Following the incident, District Collector Ramavtar Meena swiftly suspended the three doctors and the principal medical officer. A high-level inquiry has been launched to investigate the circumstances surrounding the misdiagnosis. The Collector met with officials late Thursday night to discuss the matter and has sought a report from the principal medical officer. The Secretary of the Medical Department has also been informed.
The suspended doctors have been reassigned to different CMHO (Chief Medical & Health Officer) offices within the state. The investigation is ongoing.
