**Bengaluru, November 22, 2024** – A Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) bus driver was assaulted by a motorist on Wednesday, November 20, marking the sixth such attack on BMTC staff since October 1. The incident occurred around 5:40 p.m. near a traffic signal on Nrupathunga Road, J.C. Road.

The driver, Kushal Kumar, was operating a Majestic-C.K. Palya route bus when Mohamed Faizal allegedly began verbally abusing him before boarding the bus and physically assaulting him. Another motorist also reportedly joined in the verbal abuse. A complaint has been filed at the Halasuru Gate police station.

Police believe road rage was the likely motive, though the investigation continues. This latest incident highlights a concerning rise in aggression against public transport workers in Bengaluru.
