Tue Nov 19 14:38:12 UTC 2024: ## BJP National Secretary Vinod Tawde Denies Bribery Allegations, Claims Conspiracy

**Mumbai:** BJP National Secretary Vinod Tawde has vehemently denied allegations of distributing money in Virar, calling the accusations false and a conspiracy to tarnish his image. Tawde addressed the media for the first time since a clash erupted at a Virar hotel where he was allegedly distributing money. The incident involved members of the Bahujan Vikas Aghadi who confronted Tawde, leading to a complaint being filed.

While three FIRs have been registered—one for holding a press conference, another for being in a constituency not his own, and a third related to the presence of Hitendra Thakur—Tawde insists no charges of bribery have been filed. He challenged anyone who doubts his claim to check the CCTV footage.

Tawde also refuted claims made by Hitendra Thakur that a BJP leader had given a warning, stating that Thakur initially lied but later recanted his statement, clarifying that no such warning was issued.

Dismissing suggestions that the incident was linked to his ambition for the Chief Minister’s post, Tawde asserted, “Only Nation, No Maharashtra” is his motto, confirming he is not vying for the position. He clarified that his visit to Virar was to meet party workers, a routine practice over the past 25 years. He maintains his image has been unjustly targeted.
