Wed Nov 20 09:55:06 UTC 2024: ## Lawrence Bishnoi’s Brother Arrested in US, But Not for Indian Crimes

**Sacramento, CA & Iowa –** Anmol Bishnoi, brother of notorious Indian gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, has been arrested in the United States. While India seeks his extradition on charges related to high-profile murders, including that of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala and former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique, Bishnoi’s arrest in Sacramento, California last Thursday was for entering the country illegally.

Currently being held at Pottawattamie County Jail in Iowa, according to US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Bishnoi’s detention is unrelated to the Indian cases. Sources indicate that extradition to India, despite a formal request from Delhi, is not currently feasible. However, US authorities did notify India of Bishnoi’s arrest.

Bishnoi, 25, is wanted in India on multiple serious charges. He is implicated in the 2022 murder of Sidhu Moosewala, the recent killing of Baba Siddique, and a conspiracy to raise funds and recruit youth for terrorist acts. A ₹10 lakh reward was offered for his capture by the National Investigation Agency (NIA), which has added him to its most-wanted list. A non-bailable warrant and Interpol Red Corner Notice were also issued. Mumbai Police had previously submitted an extradition request to the central government.

While Bishnoi frequently traveled between the US and Canada, where his brother’s gang has influence, he is also reportedly under investigation by Canadian authorities. The Bishnoi gang’s activities have recently included an incident involving shots fired outside actor Salman Khan’s home, further escalating their notoriety.
