Wed Nov 20 05:44:28 UTC 2024: ## Indian Woman Found Murdered in Car Boot; Husband Sought in International Manhunt

**London, UK** – A 24-year-old Indian woman, Harshita Brella, was found murdered in the boot of a car in Ilford, East London, on November 14th. Police believe her husband, Pankaj Lamba, 23, is responsible and have launched an international manhunt for him.

Brella, who had moved to the UK from Delhi in April after marrying Lamba, was reported missing by her family on November 13th after she failed to answer calls. Her body was discovered in a silver Vauxhall Corsa parked on Brisbane Road in Ilford. A post-mortem examination revealed she had been strangled.

Investigations suggest Brella was murdered in Northamptonshire earlier in November and her body transported 145 kilometers to Ilford. Northamptonshire Police confirmed that they suspect Lamba killed his wife and then fled the country. Over 60 detectives are working on the case, utilizing various investigative techniques including house-to-house inquiries, property searches, CCTV footage, and Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR).

The couple had a history of domestic violence, with Brella obtaining a Domestic Violence Protection Order (DVPO) against Lamba in September. Neighbours reported hearing arguments from the couple’s home in the days leading up to the murder.

Brella’s family in Delhi expressed their grief and called for justice. Her father, Satbir Brella, described her as a determined young woman with dreams of becoming a teacher. Her sister, Sonia Dabas, revealed that Brella had previously fled her home due to Lamba’s violence but had returned hoping to reconcile.

Police have released CCTV images of the silver Vauxhall Corsa used to transport the body and are appealing to the public for any information that could lead to Lamba’s arrest. Anyone with information is urged to contact authorities.
