**Mumbai, November 12, 2024** – The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE) will be closed on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, due to the Maharashtra state assembly elections. This closure includes trading and settlement of stocks, derivatives, and securities lending and borrowing. The Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) will also be closed for its morning session (9 AM to 5 PM), while the evening session will remain open. The National Commodity & Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX) will be closed entirely. All contracts expiring on November 20th will be preponed to November 19th. The decision follows the Election Commission of India’s announcement of the election date on October 15th. Vote counting is scheduled for November 23rd.
