**Mumbai, November 1, 2024** – Maharashtra saw a voter turnout of 45.53% by 1 pm on Wednesday, as voting for all 288 assembly seats got underway. Polling, which began at 7 am, will continue until 6 pm. Vote counting and results will be announced on November 23.

Mumbai Suburban and Nanded districts led the way with voter turnout exceeding 40% by 3 pm, reaching 40.89% and 42.87% respectively. Thane district reported a 38.94% turnout at the same time. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s constituency, Kopri-Pachpakhadi, recorded a 44.60% turnout.

Several prominent figures cast their votes, including industrialist Mukesh Ambani and family, Bollywood celebrities Ranbir Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Manish Malhotra, as well as veteran lyricist Javed Akhtar and Sholay screenwriter Salim Khan.

Chief Minister Shinde expressed confidence in the Mahayuti alliance securing a substantial majority, citing the public’s assessment of the previous government’s performance and the Mahayuti’s own achievements.
