Wed Nov 20 01:58:35 UTC 2024: **Day Before Maharashtra Election, BVA Candidate Joins BJP**

PALGHAR, MAHARASHTRA – A significant shift in the Maharashtra Assembly elections occurred on Tuesday, just one day before polling. Suresh Padvi, a candidate for the Bahujan Vikas Aghadi (BVA), defected to the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Padvi’s decision throws the Dahnu constituency race into disarray.

Padvi’s announcement came as a major blow to the BVA, a party founded by Hitendra Thakur with three current MLAs in the Maharashtra Assembly. He stated that he had discussed the matter with BJP district officials before officially joining the party and declared his support for BJP candidate Vinod Medha. Medha will now face incumbent Communist Party of India (Marxist) MLA Vinod Nikole.

This late switch adds another layer of complexity to the already intense election race in Maharashtra, with voting scheduled for Wednesday.
