Wed Nov 20 06:00:00 UTC 2024: ## Lakers Extend Winning Streak to Five with Victory Over Pelicans

**NEW ORLEANS, LA –** Anthony Davis led the Los Angeles Lakers to a 104-99 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans on Saturday night, extending their winning streak to five games. Davis delivered a dominant performance with 31 points and 14 rebounds. LeBron James added 21 points, including two crucial three-pointers in the closing minutes, though his impressive four-game triple-double streak ended. Rookie Dalton Knecht shone, scoring a career-high 27 points on five three-pointers in a starting role.

Despite a strong performance from Brandon Ingram (32 points) and Jaylen Nowell (16 points) for the Pelicans, who were playing with only 10 players due to injuries, the Lakers pulled ahead in the final seconds. A late Ingram three-pointer briefly gave New Orleans the lead before James answered with back-to-back three-pointers to seal the Lakers’ victory. The Lakers’ dominance in the paint (52-40) also contributed to their win.

The Lakers were without Cam Reddish (lower right leg injury), while Austin Reaves struggled from three-point range. For the Pelicans, Trey Murphy III remained sidelined with a hamstring injury. Despite their depleted roster, the Pelicans played a competitive game, leading at halftime 56-46. The loss extends New Orleans’ slump to 10 losses in their last 12 games.

Both teams return to NBA Cup action on Tuesday: the Lakers host Utah, while the Pelicans face Dallas.
