Wed Nov 20 01:00:00 UTC 2024: ## Shocking Elimination on The Voice as Stellar Performer Sent Home
**Los Angeles, CA** – The second night of The Voice Knockouts delivered a stunning upset, eliminating a critically acclaimed contestant despite rave reviews from the coaches. Kelsey Felsmere (formerly Kelsey Rey), a 31-year-old Los Angeles native and veteran of the show’s first season, gave a powerful rendition of Dusty Springfield’s “Son of a Preacher Man,” earning praise for her vocals and stage presence from all four coaches. Coach Gwen Stefani even declared Felsmere “a full package.”
However, Stefani ultimately chose to advance Gabrielle Zabrosky, a 25-year-old from Oxford, Pennsylvania, who delivered an emotional performance of Miley Cyrus’ “Used to Be Young.” The other coaches unanimously agreed with Stefani’s decision, with Snoop Dogg stating Zabrosky’s performance gave him chills. Stefani admitted the choice was difficult, especially considering Felsmere’s impressive rehearsal performance praised by mega-mentor Sting.
Felsmere’s performance was deeply personal, dedicated to her late father who had been her biggest supporter since her first appearance on the show in 2011. The emotional weight of the performance only amplified the shock of her elimination.
In other Knockout round news, Reba McEntire advanced 18-year-old Katie O. to the Playoffs and stole Edward Preble from Team Bublé. Michael Bublé chose Shye over Preble and J. Paul.
The Voice Knockouts conclude Monday at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
