**KOCHI, November 20, 2024** – Kerala Higher Education Minister R. Bindu criticized the media on Tuesday for fabricating stories, warning that such practices erode public trust. Speaking at the Kerala Media Academy’s convocation and media awards ceremony, Minister Bindu specifically condemned the trend of fabricated news and blamed corporate media for prioritizing the interests of the wealthy and promoting consumerism. She also stressed the urgent need for greater representation of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (SC/ST) communities within the media to ensure their issues receive adequate coverage. R.S. Babu, chairman of the academy, presided over the event.
