Tue Nov 19 23:32:04 UTC 2024: ## Andhra Pradesh High Court Orders Re-Examination of 2018 Group-I Mains Exam

**Vijayawada, November 20, 2024** – The Andhra Pradesh High Court’s order to re-conduct the 2018 Group-I (Mains) examination has renewed pressure on the TDP-led coalition government. The court confirmed irregularities in the exam’s conduct and evaluation, directing the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) to hold a fresh examination, re-evaluate answer scripts according to regulations, and complete the selection process within six months.

This decision follows a petition filed by candidates who alleged irregularities. While the High Court initially ruled in their favor in March 2024, the then YSR Congress Party government appealed, securing an interim stay.

Now, candidates are criticizing the current TDP government for failing to act on its pre-election promise to ensure justice for the affected aspirants. Many candidates face difficulties due to the delayed process, including exceeding age limits and financial hardship. The TDP, under N. Chandrababu Naidu, had previously condemned the YSRCP’s appeal and pledged to resolve the issue. The aspirants are now demanding immediate action from the government to address the situation.
