**Vijayawada, November 20, 2024** – The Andhra Pradesh High Court’s order to re-conduct the 2018 Group-I (Mains) examination has sparked renewed calls for action from affected candidates. The court confirmed irregularities in the exam’s conduct and evaluation, directing the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) to hold a fresh examination, re-evaluate answer scripts according to established norms, and complete the selection process within six months.

While the High Court ruling was issued on March 13, 2024, the then YSR Congress Party government appealed, obtaining an interim stay. Candidates, some now past the age limit or facing financial hardship, are criticizing the current TDP-led coalition government for failing to act on its previous promise to ensure justice for the affected aspirants. TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu, while in opposition, had condemned the YSRCP’s actions and pledged support to the candidates. Five months into its term, the coalition government is facing pressure to fulfill this commitment and expedite the re-examination process.
