Tue Nov 19 08:37:47 UTC 2024: ## Lee Sets New WBBL Record in Hobart Hurricanes’ Win

**Sydney, Australia** – Retired South African international Lizelle Lee smashed a record-breaking 150 not out in the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL), leading the Hobart Hurricanes to a crushing 72-run victory over the Perth Scorchers.

Lee’s unbeaten innings, which included 12 fours and 12 sixes from just 75 balls, surpassed Grace Harris’ previous WBBL record of 136. Her dominant performance propelled the Hurricanes to a formidable 203-3 in their 20 overs. The Scorchers, in reply, were bowled out for 131 in 19.3 overs. All-rounder Heather Graham contributed significantly to the win with figures of 3-24.

Despite early dismissals of opening partner Danni Wyatt-Hodge (4) and Nicola Carey (0), Lee’s powerful hitting overshadowed the Scorchers’ bowling attack. Chloe Ainsworth was the most successful Scorchers bowler with 2-17. Ainsworth also top-scored for the Scorchers with 41 runs at number eight, but it was not enough to prevent a heavy defeat. The Scorchers’ innings began disastrously with the early dismissal of Sophie Devine.

Elsewhere in the WBBL, England captain Heather Knight continued her strong form with a second consecutive half-century, helping Sydney Thunder secure an 18-run victory over Sydney Sixers.
