While schools are closed in Thanjavur, Nagapattinam, Karaikal, and Thoothukudi, colleges in Thoothukudi will remain open.
The Regional Meteorological Centre forecasts continued rainfall in the delta region, with a prediction of heavy rain in isolated areas of Mayiladuthurai, Tiruvarur, Nagapattinam, Thanjavur, Pudukkottai, and Karaikal.
