**HYDERABAD, November 19, 2024** – Dandu Chandrasekhar, husband of Nizamabad Mayor and Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader Dandu Neethu Kiran, was severely injured in a hammer attack on Monday, November 18th. The attack, which occurred at a local corporator’s office, stemmed from an alleged land dispute.
The assailant, identified as Shaik Rasool, an autorickshaw driver and self-proclaimed Congress supporter, is accused of attacking Chandrasekhar over a land encroachment claim. Rasool, who is currently absconding, alleges Chandrasekhar demanded ₹2 lakh and was involved in land grabbing with an associate named Gopal. A video circulating on social media shows Rasool making these accusations.
Chandrasekhar sustained head injuries but is reported to be in stable condition after receiving hospital treatment. Police have registered a case against Rasool and launched an investigation. A separate video showing Chandrasekhar injured and being helped has also gone viral.
