MANGALURU, Nov 17 – The Catholic Sabha, Omzoor Unit, celebrated International Men’s Day on November 17th, ahead of the official date on November 19th, with a special event honoring men’s contributions to family and society.

The day began with a Solemn Eucharistic celebration led by Fr. William Menezes, parish priest. This was followed by a gathering at the Sabha Bhavan, featuring prayer, cultural performances, and fun games organized by Babitha Fernandes, Vinita Saldanha, and Froidy Saldanha. Fr. Menezes’s address highlighted the importance of family life, mental well-being, and men’s role as positive role models.

Approximately 50 men participated in the lively event, which was well-received and organized by the women of the Catholic Sabha, Omzoor unit. Several dignitaries, including Arthur D’Souza (vice-president of PPC), Dafny Lewis (secretary of PPC), Elroy Saldanha (co-ordinator of all church commissions), and Sr Luciana Fernandes (superior of St Charles Borromeo Convent), were in attendance. Glevita D’Souza served as the emcee, and Roylin Saldanha delivered the vote of thanks.
