**Mangaluru, November 18, 2024** – Bijoya Barman and Sachin emerged victorious in the women’s and men’s open categories, respectively, of the 42K full marathon at the Mangalore Marathon held on November 10th. Barman completed the race with a time of 3:38:08, beating T.N. Reena (4:29:08) and Jasmitha Kodenkiri (4:45:30). Sachin secured first place in the men’s category with a time of 2:43:55, followed by Suraj Prasad (2:58:27) and T. Dileep (3:37:54).

Other winners included Preyasee Chari and A. Chandrashekara in the 50+ age group full marathon. The 20-miler (32K) saw Lesharge Senait Kefelegn and Kartik Karkera take top honors in the women’s and men’s categories, while Weldemary Eyerusalem Tase and Onesmus Kipchirchir Biwot won the 21K race. Somya and Bhuwan Chandra Suyal won the 10K, and R. Usha and H. Govindaraj claimed victory in the 5K. The children’s races saw Sanvi Yadav and Jesta win the CFAL 10K (12-14 age group) and Gowthami R. Kamath and Mohammed Sameer Alam win the CFAL 5K (15-17 age group).

Race Director Abhilash Dominic announced that four participants were disqualified for exchanging race bibs, a violation of the rules.
