**Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh:** The Yogi Adityanath government is leaving no stone unturned to ensure the safety and security of pilgrims attending the 2025 Maha Kumbh Mela, one of the world’s largest religious gatherings. An unprecedented security apparatus is being deployed, including a 24/7 surveillance operation involving 700 boats manned by 220 high-tech divers from the NDRF, SDRF, and the state’s water police. Local divers will also assist in the operation.

This comprehensive security plan, implemented on the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, aims to prevent any untoward incidents during the Kumbh Mela. Personnel from across India, including Goa, Kolkata, and Maharashtra, have been brought in to bolster the water police force. The deployment of such a large number of high-tech divers marks a first for the event. Local expertise is also being leveraged, with trained local divers supplementing the professional teams. In addition, 10 companies of PAC, 12 companies of NDRF, and 6 companies of SDRF will be on standby to handle any emergencies.

The government is working around the clock to ensure the safety of devotees from both within India and abroad, collaborating with various government and non-governmental organizations. Training programs are being conducted for local residents to help with security operations. Over 200 local volunteers will be actively involved in safeguarding pilgrims and sadhus.
