**New Delhi, [Date]** – The Joint Admission Board (JAB) has reversed its recent decision to allow students three attempts at the JEE Advanced exam, returning to the previous policy of only two attempts. Students who completed their qualifying exam before March 2024 will not be eligible.

**Separate IIT Kanpur Seats for Olympiad Winners**

In separate news, IIT Kanpur announced it will offer B.Tech and B.S. seats to students who have participated in international Olympiads, regardless of their JEE Advanced performance. Six seats in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) will be allocated to students who participated in the International Olympiad in Informatics and Mathematics. Additional seats will be offered in other departments, including Economics, Mathematics and Statistics, Chemistry, and Biological Sciences and Bioengineering. Applications for these seats will open in the first week of March, prior to the JOSAA counseling process. The details of whether these seats will be in addition to the existing seats or will reduce the seats for general applicants are yet to be clarified.
