**Jamui, Bihar – November 17, 2024** – Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with tribal representatives from Andhra Pradesh’s Alluri Sitharama Raju (ASR) district during the “Janjatiya Gaurav Divas” celebrations in Jamui, Bihar, on November 15th. The event commemorated the 150th birth anniversary of tribal leader Bhagwan Birsa Munda.

Modi visited a stall showcasing products from the ASR district’s Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA)-Paderu, including Araku coffee and tribal handicrafts. He spoke with Swabhi Ganga from Araku Valley and Ravi from Pedabayalu, who presented him with a photo album detailing development projects implemented under the government’s “PM JANMAN” program. The program, launched in January, focused on providing water connections, roads, street lighting, housing, Aadhaar cards, and Ayushman Bharat cards to tribal communities. Ganga, who interacted with Modi virtually earlier this year, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to meet him in person.

During their conversation, Modi inquired about the development initiatives in the ASR district and praised the growing global recognition of Araku coffee. He also examined products from the Van Dhan Vikas Kendra (VDVK), a program promoting tribal handicrafts. ITDA Project Officer V. Abhishek informed Modi that PM JANMAN had resulted in the allocation of houses to 22,831 tribals, along with the distribution of thousands of Ayushman Bharat cards, Aadhaar cards, gas connections, and the opening of numerous bank accounts.
