Sat Nov 16 20:40:00 UTC 2024: ## West Virginia’s Greene to Return as Starter Against Baylor

**MORGANTOWN, W.Va. —** West Virginia Mountaineers quarterback Garrett Greene will return to the starting lineup this Saturday against Baylor, sources have confirmed to ESPN’s Pete Thamel. Greene has been sidelined for the past two games with an upper-body injury, though he was available as an emergency backup last week against Cincinnati.

The news comes as a boost for the Mountaineers (5-4, 4-2 Big 12), who have managed two consecutive victories despite Greene’s absence. Sophomore Nicco Marchiol filled in admirably, throwing for 354 yards and three touchdowns in those games. Marchiol also added 57 rushing yards and a touchdown.

The return of Greene, who boasts career totals of 4,422 passing yards, 30 touchdowns, and 15 interceptions, is expected to further strengthen West Virginia’s offense. Coach Neal Brown also announced on his radio show that wide receiver Hudson Clement, second on the team with 383 receiving yards, will also return from a foot injury to face Baylor. Clement missed last week’s game.

West Virginia currently sits in a four-way tie for third place in the Big 12 conference. The game against Baylor is set for Saturday.
