Sun Nov 17 15:00:00 UTC 2024: ## Bollywood Classic “Karan Arjun” Returns to Big Screen After 30 Years

**Mumbai, India –** Thirty years after its initial release, the iconic Bollywood film *Karan Arjun* is set for a nationwide re-release on November 22nd. Director Rakesh Roshan, in an exclusive interview, described the re-release as a “social experiment” to gauge whether the film’s emotional impact resonates with today’s audiences.

The film’s journey to the big screen was fraught with challenges, Roshan revealed. Initially titled *Kainaat*, the project faced skepticism from distributors who doubted the pairing of two romantic heroes, Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan, in action roles. Furthermore, both Ajay Devgn and Shah Rukh Khan initially dropped out of the film due to disagreements over their respective roles. Aamir Khan eventually replaced Devgn. Shah Rukh Khan, after initially leaving, returned, citing his desire to collaborate with Roshan again. Kajol, recommended by Shah Rukh Khan, was cast as the female lead.

Roshan highlighted the unique camaraderie on set, recalling how the relatively new stars shared hairdressers and makeup artists, and spent time together off-screen. He believes a similar collaboration between current superstars is possible, provided the script offers equal importance to both lead roles.

The re-release of *Karan Arjun* promises a nostalgic trip down memory lane for fans and a fascinating test of the film’s enduring appeal for a new generation.
