**Manesar, November 17, 2024** – Over 650 commandos from state police forces and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) completed a two-week counter-terrorism and counter-improvised explosive device (IED) exercise conducted by the National Security Guard (NSG) at its Manesar training centre. The exercise, concluding Saturday, involved 31 teams from various states including Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Jammu & Kashmir, Puducherry, and Chandigarh, along with 10 teams from five CAPFs.
The NSG stated that the training focused on enhancing counter-terrorist, bomb disposal, and K9 unit skills through practical demonstrations, simulations, and case studies. A key element was improving coordination and synergy between the NSG and state-level forces in challenging joint operations, aligning with the Ministry of Home Affairs’ “Duty to Share” initiative. Training scenarios included live interventions in urban and rural settings, and specifically targeted environments such as buses, metros, trains, and aircraft, with a strong emphasis on IED detection and disposal.
