CHENNAI, INDIA – November 15, 2024 – Actress Nayanthara has publicly denounced actor Dhanush for filing a ₹10 crore copyright infringement lawsuit against the makers of her upcoming Netflix documentary, *Nayanthara: Beyond The Fairy Tale*. The dispute stems from a three-second clip from Dhanush’s film *Naanum Rowdy Dhaan* used in the documentary’s trailer.

Nayanthara, in a strongly worded open letter posted to Instagram, criticized Dhanush’s actions as an “all-time low,” stating the footage was from behind-the-scenes (BTS) personal videos already publicly available on social media. She questioned the demand for such a substantial sum for the brief usage.

Prior to Nayanthara’s letter, her husband, director Vignesh Shivan, responded to the legal notice by sharing a motivational video of Dhanush advocating for love and positivity, sarcastically captioning it “live and let live.” He also shared the legal notice itself on his Instagram Stories before deleting both posts.
