**Mexico City, Mexico** – Denmark’s Victoria Kjaer Theilvig has been crowned Miss Universe 2024, defeating 125 contestants from around the globe at the Arena CDMX in Mexico City. The 21-year-old beauty queen took home the coveted title on Sunday, succeeding Miss Nicaragua, Sheynnis Palacios.
Nigeria’s Chidimma Adetshina was named first runner-up, followed by Mexico’s Maria Fernanda Beltran as second runner-up. Thailand’s Opal Suchata Chuangsri and Venezuela’s Ileana Marquez rounded out the top five finalists.
The Miss Universe Organization’s Instagram page announced the win, celebrating the start of Theilvig’s reign and expressing hope that she will inspire women worldwide. Theilvig chose a striking bright pink gown for the final round, completing the look with sheer pink gloves and a glamorous makeup style.
This year’s competition saw participation from over 120 countries.
