**Hubballi, November 16, 2024** – The Panchamasali community will besiege the Suvarna Vidhana Soudha on December 10th with an estimated 500,000 people and 5,000 tractors, demanding immediate implementation of 2A reservation, according to Basava Jaya Mruthyunjaya Swami, head of the Kudalasangama Panchamasali Peetha.
Swami made the announcement following a meeting with community advocates in Hubballi on Saturday. He expressed frustration over the lack of progress on the issue, citing delays due to the election code of conduct and the Chief Minister’s refusal to grant 2D reservation. The community’s demand now is for an immediate notification granting 2A reservation. Should the winter session of the legislature be rescheduled, the siege will commence on the second day of the session.
Swami appealed to Panchamasali legislators to actively participate in the protest, warning of community backlash against those who fail to do so. He criticized some legislators for their reluctance to engage with the government on the matter, urging them to reconsider their approach.
