**FONTANA, CA (KCAL) –** Two moderate earthquakes struck near Fontana, California on Saturday, November 16th, prompting reports of shaking across a wide swathe of Southern California. The first quake, registering a magnitude 3.5, hit at approximately 2:17 PM PST, about 4.5 miles northwest of Fontana at a depth of just over 1.5 miles.
Approximately six hours later, at 8:17 PM PST, a second earthquake, measuring 3.4 on the Richter scale, struck a similar location, roughly 3.7 miles northwest of Fontana, at a depth exceeding two miles.
While no damage or injuries have been reported, the USGS “Did You Feel It?” tracker logged numerous reports of shaking from residents as far away as Santa Clarita and Temecula. Authorities are monitoring the situation for any potential aftershocks.
