Sat Nov 16 20:15:10 UTC 2024: ## Hooti Rebels Launch Failed Missile and Drone Attack on US Warships

**Washington, D.C.** – The Pentagon confirmed on Tuesday that two US warships in the Bab el-Mandab strait came under attack by Houthi rebels. The assault involved eight unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), five anti-ship ballistic missiles, and three anti-ship cruise missiles.

All incoming missiles and drones were intercepted and destroyed before reaching their targets, according to the US military. There were no reported injuries or damage to the American vessels. “There were no casualties or damage to the ships,” Major General Pat Ryder, Pentagon spokesperson, told reporters.

The Houthis have claimed responsibility for the attack, specifically targeting the USS Abraham Lincoln. This latest attack follows a pattern of similar assaults on vessels in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden that began in November 2022. The Houthis have previously justified these attacks as retaliation for actions in Gaza.
