**New Delhi:** Kailash Gehlot, a senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and Delhi’s transport minister, has resigned from the party and his ministerial post, citing the government’s failure to fulfill promises made to the people of Delhi. In his resignation letter addressed to AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal and Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, Gehlot expressed disappointment over the party’s inability to deliver on key promises, specifically mentioning the lack of progress in cleaning the Yamuna river.

Gehlot, who also held portfolios for Information Technology and Women & Child Development, attributed the government’s shortcomings to the constant conflict between the Delhi and central governments. He stated that the government’s focus on battling the central government has hindered the city’s development. His resignation is considered a significant blow to the AAP, especially with Delhi Assembly elections scheduled for February next year.
