A trough extending from the Comorin area to the southwest Bay of Bengal, originating from a cyclonic circulation over the Gulf of Mannar and Sri Lanka coast, is driving the precipitation.
The IMD has issued a yellow alert for five districts – Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Ernakulam, Kozhikode, and Wayanad – anticipating isolated heavy rainfall on Sunday, November 17th. These districts are expected to receive between 64.5 mm and 115.5 mm of rainfall within a 24-hour period. Residents in these areas are advised to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions.
