NEW YORK, NY – Marvel Comics announced the launch of *Weapon X-Men*, a new X-Men title featuring a lethal new team of mutant icons. Written by Joe Casey and illustrated by ChrisCross, the series debuts in February with an oversized first issue.
The team will include Wolverine, Deadpool, and Cable, and their first mission will take them to Latveria to confront Doctor Doom. Further missions will see them face both established villains and an all-new threat, forcing the team to utilize their deadly skills as never before. The series is described as dangerous, unpredictable, and classic.
“When I pitched this series over a year ago, I knew it was going to be big,” Casey said in a statement. “Writing a brand-new, premier super-team of top-tier mutants as they take on some of the most iconic villains in the modern Marvel Universe has turned out to be even more fun than I could’ve dreamed of.”
*Weapon X-Men #1*, featuring cover art by Alex Ross, will be available February 19th at comic shops and digitally on Marvel Unlimited.
