Sat Nov 16 04:30:00 UTC 2024: ## NFL Today Goes on the Road for Historic Bills-Chiefs Matchup

**Buffalo, NY** – For the first time in its history, CBS’s pregame show, *The NFL Today*, will broadcast live from the site of a regular season game. The show will originate from Buffalo on Sunday, ahead of the highly anticipated clash between the undefeated Kansas City Chiefs (9-0) and the Buffalo Bills (8-2).

This marks only the fifth time since the NFL-AFL merger that two teams with at least eight wins have faced off before Week 11, highlighting the significance of the matchup. Instead of broadcasting from the stadium as is customary for road broadcasts, *The NFL Today* will set up shop outdoors, aiming to capture the electric atmosphere amongst Bills fans several hours before kickoff.

CBS Sports President and CEO David Berson emphasized that the decision wasn’t solely driven by expected viewership increases. “We’re not going to judge it based upon [viewership],” Berson stated. “We’re just happy to be part of what will be an incredible atmosphere on site,” he added, highlighting the crew’s enthusiasm and the opportunity to engage with fans directly. The relatively low cost associated with the broadcast, due to a reduced on-site crew, further facilitated the decision. The network views the broadcast as a contribution to the overall excitement surrounding the game, a move that aligns with the NFL’s goals.
