**Ambur, Tamil Nadu – November 17, 2024** – A 42-year-old pump operator, V. Sugumar, died from electrocution Saturday morning while operating a motor pumpset in Periyavarigam village near Ambur. Sugumar, a resident of the village and a decade-long employee, was electrocuted while switching on the pump to fill the village’s overhead water tank. Neighbors, alerted by a loud noise, discovered him unconscious and rushed him to the Government Taluk Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. The Umarabad police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident.
