**HYDERABAD, November 16, 2024** – A fire broke out early Saturday morning in a Hyderabad apartment complex, forcing the evacuation of approximately 30 residents. The blaze, originating in flat 310 of Fortune Green Homes’ B Block in Puppalaguda, is believed to have been caused by a refrigerator short circuit.

The fire, which started around 5:25 a.m., quickly filled the corridors and upper floors of the five-story building with thick smoke. A family of five, including a 70-year-old woman and two children, escaped the burning apartment and contacted emergency services.

Four fire tenders responded swiftly, extinguishing the flames within an hour. While the fire was contained to flat 310, significant smoke damage affected neighboring units, prompting the precautionary evacuation of residents from those apartments. The fire damaged furniture including sofas and beds within the affected apartment. No injuries were reported. Assistant Divisional Fire Officer Govardhan Reddy of Madhapur confirmed the details.
