**TIRUPATI, November 17, 2024** – Nara Ramamurthy Naidu, younger brother of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu and father of Telugu actor Nara Rohit, passed away on Saturday at a private hospital in Hyderabad. He was 72. Naidu, a former MLA for Chandragiri, succumbed to a heart attack after being hospitalized a few days prior due to illness.
A prominent figure in the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) during the 1990s, Naidu served as MLA from 1994 to 1999. He later joined the Indian National Congress in 2003 but was unsuccessful in his subsequent political endeavors. In recent years, he had largely withdrawn from active politics due to health issues.
Naidu’s body is expected to arrive in Tirupati on Sunday, before being taken to his native village, Naravaripalle, for the final rites. A large gathering is anticipated, including Chief Minister Naidu, several cabinet ministers, TDP party cadres, and film personalities. The Tirupati district police are making arrangements to manage the expected crowds.
