Sat Nov 16 11:30:27 IST 2024: **Bollywood Actress Disha Patani’s Father Duped of ₹25 Lakh**
Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh – Jagdish Singh Patani, the retired Deputy Superintendent and father of Bollywood actress Disha Patani, has filed a police complaint alleging a ₹25 lakh fraud. Five individuals, identified as Shivendra Pratap Singh, Diwakar Garg, Acharya Jayprakash (from the Juna Akhara), Preeti Garg, and an unidentified person, are accused of defrauding him.
The accused allegedly promised Mr. Patani a high-ranking position in a government commission. They received ₹5 lakh in cash and ₹20 lakh through online transfers to three different accounts. When Mr. Patani saw no progress after three months and demanded his money back, he claims he was threatened.
The group allegedly used a purported “special task officer” named Himanshu to lend credibility to their false claims of political connections. A case has been registered at the Bareilly Kotwali police station under charges of fraud, criminal intimidation, and extortion. Police are currently investigating the matter and attempting to apprehend the accused.
