**Hyderabad, November 16, 2024** – Nara Ramamurthy Naidu, younger brother of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu and father of actor Nara Rohith, passed away at the age of 72 on Saturday following a cardiac arrest. He had been battling multiple health complications and was admitted to AIG Hospitals in Gachibowli on November 14 after suffering an initial cardiac arrest. Despite receiving intensive medical care, including an intra-aortic balloon pump, he suffered a second, fatal cardiac arrest on Saturday.

Mr. Naidu, a former MLA representing the Chandragiri Assembly constituency in Chittoor district, had a notable political career, primarily with the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), punctuated by a brief stint with the Congress party in 2002. He had stepped away from active politics in recent years due to declining health.

His body is currently at AIG Hospital, awaiting the arrival of Chief Minister Naidu from New Delhi before being transported to his native village, Naravaripalle in Chittoor district, for the final rites on Sunday. Several prominent figures, including Andhra Pradesh IT Minister Nara Lokesh, BJP chief Daggubati Purandeswari, and Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, have offered their condolences. Mr. Naidu is survived by his sons, Nara Rohith and Nara Girish.
