HYDERABAD, INDIA (November 16, 2024) – Ramamurthy Naidu, younger brother of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, passed away this afternoon at a private hospital in Hyderabad due to a cardiac arrest. He was 72.

Naidu had been battling a long-term illness and had received treatment at various private hospitals. A prominent figure in his own right, he served as a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Chandragiri constituency after winning the 1994 elections, inspired by his brother’s political success. He is survived by his two sons, Telugu film actor Nara Rohit and Nara Girish.

Family sources described Ramamurthy Naidu as a devoted family man known for his close relationships with his loved ones. His nephew, Lokesh, fondly referred to him as “Chinnanna,” highlighting their strong bond.

Following the news of his passing, Chief Minister Naidu and Lokesh have cancelled all official engagements and are travelling to Hyderabad.
