**Dehradun, India –** A tragic car accident in Dehradun has claimed the lives of six young people and left one critically injured. The accident occurred late Monday night near Kishan Nagar Chowk when a car, driven by one of the victims, attempted to overtake a container truck and collided with it at high speed.
The group, comprised of seven friends aged 19-25, had gathered for a party at the home of Siddhesh Agarwal (25) before the fatal incident. According to police, Atul Agarwal (24) had arrived in a new car, which the group later decided to use for a drive around the city. They picked up two additional friends, Kamakshi (20) and Guneet (19), before the accident. Also in the vehicle were Rishabh Jain (24), Navya Goyal (23), and Kunal Kukreja (23).
All six passengers except Siddhesh Agarwal perished in the crash. Agarwal, who sustained serious injuries to his face, shoulder, and lungs, is currently in critical condition at Synergy Hospital.
Police have registered a case under section 106 (2) of the Bhartiya Nyay Sanhita against the driver for causing death by rash and negligent driving. While Siddhesh Agarwal’s father filed the complaint, he did not name anyone specifically, leaving the investigation to determine the precise circumstances of the accident. The family was en route to a wedding in Jaipur when the tragedy struck.
