Sat Nov 16 01:10:00 UTC 2024: ## Andhra Pradesh Ministers Accuse Sakshi TV and Paper of Misrepresenting Legislative Council Proceedings

**Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh:** Andhra Pradesh ministers have accused Sakshi TV and newspaper, owned by the family of Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy, of deliberately misrepresenting proceedings in the Legislative Council. Ministers Kinjarapu Atchannaidu and Kolusu Parthasaradhi expressed their outrage, demanding action against those responsible for the alleged misinformation campaign.

Minister Atchannaidu highlighted instances where ministers provided clear answers to MLAs’ questions, only to be portrayed by Sakshi as evasive. He alleged that the media outlet fabricated stories and disseminated false information to the public. He further accused the YSRCP of using its media outlets to spread lies.

Minister Parthasaradhi went further, alleging that Sakshi is operating as a parallel system to the Assembly and Legislative Council, specifically targeting question-and-answer sessions. He criticized the publication for spreading misinformation about the absence of members from the Legislative Assembly. Both ministers asserted that Sakshi’s actions undermine the legislative process and democracy itself. They challenged YSRCP members to address their concerns openly in the Assembly.

The ministers appealed to the Chairman of the Legislative Council to take immediate action against those responsible for the false reporting and to curb this pattern of behavior. The ministers’ accusations have intensified the ongoing political tension between the ruling YSRCP and the opposition parties in Andhra Pradesh.
