CHENNAI, INDIA – Actress Nayanthara has publicly criticized actor Dhanush after receiving a ₹10 crore (approximately $1.2 million USD) legal notice for using a three-second clip from his film *Naanum Rowdy Dhaan* in her Netflix documentary, *Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairy Tale*.
In an open letter, Nayanthara accused Dhanush of hypocrisy, stating that his actions were inconsistent with his public persona. She highlighted the struggles faced by actors who, unlike Dhanush, have achieved success without family connections in the industry.
Nayanthara explained that she waited two years for permission to use the footage but, after Dhanush refused, she re-edited the documentary using alternative behind-the-scenes clips. The legal notice, issued after the documentary’s trailer release, questioned the use of three seconds of personal footage from her own devices, which were already available on social media.
