**Melbourne, Australia:** The Melbourne Renegades Women (MLRW) have set a 171-run target for the Melbourne Stars Women (MLSW) in the 28th match of the Women’s Big Bash League 2024, currently underway at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Nicole Faltum led the Renegades’ batting charge with a strong 66 runs, while Georgia Wareham contributed 34 and Georgia Prestwidge chipped in with 23. Kim Garth was the pick of the bowlers for the Stars, claiming two wickets. Marizanne Kapp, Sophie Day, Annabel Sutherland, and Deepti Sharma each picked up one wicket.

The Stars are currently chasing the target, with 61 runs on the board for the loss of three wickets after eight overs. They require a further 110 runs in 72 overs to secure victory.

The Renegades have enjoyed a strong start to the tournament, remaining undefeated in nine matches out of 18 played. The Stars, meanwhile, have won eight of their 18 matches.

The WBBL 2024 continues with a series of exciting matches scheduled over the weekend. On Saturday, the Adelaide Strikers will take on the Hobart Hurricanes at Adelaide Oval, while on Sunday, the Melbourne Stars will face the Brisbane Heat at Drummoyne Oval and the Sydney Thunder will clash with the Sydney Sixers at the same venue.

The WBBL 2024 will culminate in the final on December 1st, with the venue yet to be decided. The two playoffs will be held on November 27th and 29th.
