**Lucknow:** The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has yielded to student protests and reversed its decision to hold the Provincial Civil Services (PCS) preliminary exam on a single day. Following the announcement, the protests outside the UPPSC headquarters have significantly subsided.

Students had been protesting for weeks against the one-day exam, arguing that it would disadvantage candidates and create logistical challenges. The UPPSC has now agreed to conduct the exam according to the old pattern.

While the students are relieved by this decision, they continue to demand that the UPPSC take a decision regarding the Review Officer (RO) and Assistant Review Officer (ARO) exams, which they are also protesting against.

Students expressed confidence that the Chief Minister will intervene and direct the UPPSC to address their concerns about the RO/ARO exam as well.

This development comes after the UPPSC had earlier postponed the RO/ARO exams, offering a glimmer of hope to the protesting students.
