**Kimberley, South Africa** – Trishna Ray, a student of KIIT University in Bhubaneshwar, has made history by becoming the first Indian to win the coveted Miss Teen Universe crown. The 2024 edition of the prestigious pageant was held in Kimberley, South Africa, from November 1-9. Ray, who is studying fashion technology at KIIT, outshone competitors from countries like Peru, South Africa, Brazil, Kenya, Portugal, and the Netherlands to secure the title.

This victory comes after a series of setbacks for Ray, who was previously unable to compete in Colombia and the Dominican Republic due to visa issues. However, she persevered and ultimately triumphed in South Africa, demonstrating her resilience and determination.

“Trishna Ray’s victory is a testament to her hard work and spirit,” said Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder of KIIT University. “She has inspired us all with her determination and resilience, especially during this tough time.”

Former Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik also congratulated Ray, saying, “May she scale new heights in her career and make our state proud.”
