Fri Nov 15 03:07:13 UTC 2024: ## Diljit Dosanjh’s Hyderabad Concert Under Scrutiny: Telangana Government Bans Songs Promoting Alcohol, Drugs, and Violence

**Hyderabad, November 15, 2024:** Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh’s much-anticipated concert in Hyderabad has been put under the spotlight after the Telangana government issued a notice to organizers, barring the performance of songs promoting alcohol, drugs, and violence. The notice was issued by the District Welfare Officer of the Department of Welfare of Women and Children, Disabled and Senior Citizens, Rangareddy, following a representation from a resident of Chandigarh.

The notice, based on video evidence showcasing Diljit’s performance at a recent concert in Delhi, states that his songs during the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium event promoted alcohol, drugs, and violence. Consequently, the Telangana government has also restricted the use of children on stage during the Hyderabad concert, citing concerns regarding loud sounds and flashing lights potentially harming them.

Despite the notice, Diljit Dosanjh has already arrived in Hyderabad, visiting the city’s historic Charminar and offering prayers at a temple and Gurudwara. His Dil-Luminati Tour, encompassing 10 cities across India, was scheduled to include Hyderabad as one of the stops. The concert, set to take place at Cyberabad on November 15th, is now facing scrutiny due to the government’s intervention.

The impact of this notice on the concert and its content remains to be seen, but it raises questions about the role of government intervention in artistic expression and the responsibility of artists in promoting positive messages through their performances.
