**MUMBAI** – Maheep Kapoor, known for her appearances on the Netflix series “Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives,” has revealed the unconventional story behind her marriage to actor Sanjay Kapoor. In a recent interview, the socialite described a “one-night stand” as the catalyst for their relationship, a far cry from the curated romantic narratives often seen on social media.

Kapoor, who has been married to Sanjay for 30 years, explained that their love story was far from glamorous. She met Sanjay at a party, intoxicated, and initially had no intentions of marrying him. “Ours was quite simple,” Kapoor stated. “I just had a one-night stand with this man and I never knew I was going to get married to him.”

Despite her initial inebriated state, Maheep encountered Sanjay’s family, including Anil Kapoor, Sunita, and the late Sridevi, at the party. She admits to being “dead drunk” but was warmly welcomed by the family who declared her “an amazing future daughter-in-law.”

When asked about the traditional proposal, Kapoor dismissed the notion. “We didn’t have all this proposal and all,” she said, adding, “We didn’t have Instagram. So, we didn’t give a s***. He just told me, ‘Look, we are getting married’, and I said, ‘Okay, fine.'” The couple decided to tie the knot in 1997, with their wedding taking place at a nightclub in Colaba Taj, seemingly fueled by tequila and party vibes.

Maheep Kapoor and Sanjay Kapoor are parents to two children, Shanaya and Jahaan Kapoor, and continue to be a prominent couple in the Bollywood social scene.
