Fri Nov 15 10:27:21 UTC 2024: ## UPPCS Students Continue Protest Despite Concessions

**Lucknow:** Despite concessions made by the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) regarding the upcoming PCS Prelims exam, students continue their protest, claiming their demands are not fully met. The UPPSC had initially announced the exam would be held on December 22nd and 23rd in two shifts with normalization formula applied.

Following protests from students who feared the two-shift format and normalization would disadvantage them, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath intervened. The UPPSC subsequently agreed to conduct the PCS Prelims on a single day, discarding the normalization formula.

However, the students remain dissatisfied with the decision regarding the RO-ARO exam. While the UPPSC has formed a committee to decide the exam format, students demand clarity on the committee’s mandate and the final exam schedule.

“The government has addressed the PCS exam concerns by adopting the ‘one day, one shift’ format but hasn’t clarified the committee’s role for the RO-ARO exam,” said a protesting student. “We will continue our protest until our demands are fully met.”

The PCS Prelims exam will now be conducted on a single day, following the old pattern, with two papers – General Studies 1 and General Studies 2, in two separate shifts. The exam is scheduled for December 2024.
